Does natural rubber grip better when wet?

Rubber keeps its tacky surface even as moisture builds, so hands and feet stay planted through a sweaty flow. It does not need water to activate grip the way some materials do. A towel on top can still help in very heavy sweat.

Why do rubber mats feel heavier than other mats?

Tree rubber is denser than foam or TPE, which gives it that grounded feel and long wear. The weight is the tradeoff for stability and grip. Travel versions trim the bulk for portability.

Do rubber mats have a smell?

A rubber scent is normal when the mat is new and fades with airing out. Unrolling it in a ventilated room for a few days helps. The smell does not affect grip or durability.

How tree rubber behaves underfoot

Natural rubber mats are built around grip that holds when hands and feet press down. The surface tends to stay tacky rather than slick, which matters in poses where you are pushing away from the floor. The material has a dense, grounded feel that many people notice right away compared with foam or PVC.
